Civic Participation

At RITA, we believe that civic participation is the responsibility and right of everyone. All Texans should claim their right to participate in America’s democracy from telling their story to visiting with elected officials and voting.

We provide the opportunity for immigrants in Texas to take part in civic participation by:

• Volunteering
• Sharing your story
• Protesting unjust laws
• Guiding you become a citizen if you are permanent resident
• Helping you to register to vote if you are citizen
• Getting information to you about voting, if you are registered to vote
• Helping you help others to vote

Civic participation is about making a difference in your community to build a better life for all.

We can connect you to organizations in your area working on civic engagement or you can join our virtual group of volunteers who are making a difference.
